Settling In

It's now Friday evening, and we're relaxing at the house in Silverthorne. We're staying at the same house as last year, and it's perfect for this size group. The guys even found some college hockey on the TV. With most of us recovering from our large lunch at Beau Jo's, no one is really in a mood to go for dinner right now. We have may the requisit trips to both the liquor store and the grocery store, so I think we're set for dinners tomorrow and Sunday night, as well as the libation department (at least for now).

The drive in from Denver was uneventful (as has been the whole trip so far), and our first order of business when we arrived in Silverthorne was to head on over to the pond to check in. The ice looked like it was in decent shape, considering the warm temperatures.

During check in, Mac received a special honor. He got an award for being the oldest participant at the tournament - a Jagermeister bandana. Just what he needs.

Our hockey starts tomorrow at 7am when the Broad Street Buddhas take on the New Mexico Ice Topes. Knowing our luck, this will probably be a team of former NHL'ers that needed something to do this weekend. At least, at that hour of the day, the ice might be good. The surface was at least very smooth this evening. I just don't know how it will hold up. The Ice Holes play Altitude Sickness at 9:48am. Hopefully the ice will hold up for their game, as well. After our morning games, we've got a long break - as in pretty much all day. Our second games are at 10pm. I guess we'll have to find a way to fill our time. We did receive a voucher to go by the outlet mall and get a free stainless steel travel mug and a $5 coupon. We can all go by the Coach outlet and get some purses.

Here's some more pics from today:

  1. Hmmmm. Coach purses would be perfect gifts for all the understanding girls left alone (again!) on Valentine's Day! Have fun Holes and Buddhas! Love, Hot Mama

  2. Kristine here: Uh, yes. Coach purses for all the women! BTW, I'm impressed that Brian knew the Coach store would have purses. That is a sign of good upbringing. Well done, Georgia!
